Vitamin C has been shown to be antiviral and antibacterial, as well as enhancing many immune functions. The body cannot store Vitamin C and therefore it must be taken on a daily basis. Recent research indicates that Vitamin C may elevate the beneficial HDL cholesterol and prevent a variety of diseases, such as cancer. Finally, natural Vitamin C favors the absorption of biologically beneficial flavonoids. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is possibly the most popular herbal supplement in the world. It has many known benefits that have been used for centuries by many different cultures. Aloe has the ability to reduce inflammation in the digestive tract, improving wound healing and stimulating the immune system. Recently, several studies have found further benefits of Aloe:
Apple Fiber
Apple Fiber aids in sustaining intestinal homeostasis. High pectin Apple Fiber is thought to remove cholesterol from our intestinal tracts. High pectin Apple Fiber raises the acidity in the large intestine, which prevents reflux of potentially harmful bile acids. Furthermore, it helps to block the absorption of toxic heavy metals and dietary carcinogens that enter our systems.
Barley Grass
Organically grown Barley Grass contains several ingredients that strengthen and maintain the immune system. Many of the components of Barley Grass juice have immunostimulating, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-viral properties for fighting colds, flu, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. When added to damaged cells, Barley Grass juice boosts the cell's ability to repair it's own DNA, thus preventing mutations and cancer. It is rich in enzymes, especially SOD. Barley Grass contains large amounts of potassium, calcium, and magnesium. It also is a rich source of chlorophyll and beta-carotene. It is seven times richer in Vitamin C than the equivalent of eight oranges. It is five times more bountiful in iron than spinach. Barley Grass provides large amounts of natural chlorophyll and many other enzymes essential in human metabolism. It also has a cleansing effect that enables the body to rid itself of toxins.
Bee Pollen
The Bee Pollen used in Power For Life is a multifloral pollen. It contains significant amounts of SOD and is plentiful in over 20 amino acids, 16 vitamins and 27 minerals, such as boron, molybdenum, vandium, and others. This potent pollen is collected from over 1000 different species of plants.
Bilberry
Bee Pollen is a known energy enhancer. Experiments have shown that Bee Pollen has a strong effect on the sex glands, and through them, the endrocrine glands. People who are tired and weary, or with little sexual energy, will benefit from Bee Pollen. It may also help some individuals desensitize their allergic reactions to pollen. Secondly, Bee Pollen helps people who perform mentally taxing work by increasing mental acuity and stamina. Specifically, it enhances one's ability to focus and work longer while feeling less tired. Studies have shown Bee Pollen to:
Vaccinium Myrtillus L. is a perennial shrub that grows in the woods of northern Europe and sandy areas of North America. After the plant is cultivated, the ripe deep-blue berries are used to prepare the extract.
Recent USDA studies rank blueberries as the richest natural source of antioxidants. Other reports show blueberries exhibit protective effects to the brain even greater than Gingko Biloba, lower 'bad' cholesterol, and support healthy eyesight. Containing a wide range of bioflavanoids known as anthocyanins and Vitamin C, blueberries are one of the most protective fruits known to man. The cells in our body are caught up in a ceaseless battle against free radicals - the unstable oxygen molecules linked with cancer, heart disease, and aging. Benefits:
Broccoli Sprouts
Cat's Claw provides a broad spectrum of benefits from a variety of complex bioflavonoid-like compounds that it contains. Known primarily as an immunostimulant, Cat's Claw also has significant antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Chlorella is a fresh water algae that has been around for several billion years. It is made up of 60% protein and has twice the protein content of soy. Chlorella has more chlorphyll than Alfalfa, ten times that of Spirulina, and over eight times that of Wheat Grass. Chlorella contains impressive amounts of beta-carotene, Vitamin C, B1, 82, 86, B12, niacin, potassium, phosphorous, copper, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, manganese, zinc, iodine, and cobalt.
Curcumin is derived from the spice Tumeric. Curcumin is possibly ounce per ounce the strongest antioxidant compound in the herbal kingdom, possibly stronger than Grape Seed extract. In a test that measured inhibition of lipid peroxidation, Curcumin outperformed Grape Seed extract and Pine Bark extract. In the past five years, many reports have come out touting Curcumin's positive health effects.
Flax Fiber
It has been shown to:
back to top Flax Fiber is a very gentle source of soluble fiber, which not only helps to promote regularity, but also aids in reducing fatty deposits in the circulatory system. It is also rich in essential fatty adds, which reduce LDL cholesterol and improve overall heart health. Flax is known to assist in pulmonary function and aid in eliminating infections. It also relieves constipation.
The flax sprouts used in Power for Life are germinated from organically grown flax seeds. They are carefully harvested after 1-2 day's growth when the enzyme activity is at it's highest. Our flax sprouts contain approximately 9000% higher levels of Vitamin E than milled flax seeds, as well as higher levels of enzymes (450%), b-vitamins ((35%), lignans (14%), and omega-3 fatty acids (23%). Flax seeds are some of the most potent health promoting foods on Earth, and our flax seed sprouts are THE most potent and bioavailable form of flax seeds found anywhere.
The "friendly" bacteria are known as probiotics. There are three kinds of beneficial bacteria: Bifidobacterium, Lactobaillius acidophillus, and Lactobacillus bulgaricus. Deficiencies in the balance of these bacteria are known as Dysbiosis. Dysbiosis may contribute to, if not cause the following; acne, auto-immune illness, breast cancer, Candida Albicans overgrowth, chronic fatigue syndrome, colon cancer, colitis, digestive problems, food allergy and intolerance, intestinal gas, bloating, and irritable bowel syndrome.
The Friendly Bacteria Complex is from the highest quality source available, in addition to breaking down and helping remove food residues, Friendly Bacteria Complex has been shown to:
The following is a list of bacteria in the Friendly Bacteria Complex:
FructoOligosaccharides (FOS)
FructoOligosaccharides are sucrose (sugar) molecules linked together with unique bonds that the body can't digest. FOS are plural, usually a trio of three different Oligosccharides working together, FOS is a specific time - released food for friendly bacteria in our intestines. It starves unfriendly bacteria.
Ginkgo Bilboa
Much of the research on FOS is recent and much is still needed. However, this impressive list attests to the power of this supplement:
Recently, scientists have shown that Ginkgo provided protection against mutagenic effects of oxidation in Chernobyl survivors. Radiation is a potent oxidizing agent and Ginkgo had a positive effect in reducing radiation induced damage to the victims. Additionally, Ginkgo has been shown to aid in heart recovery after heart attacks. Other studies have shown that this herb has positive effects on treatment of ailments associated with vascular problems. It has been shown that Ginkgo:
back to top Grape Leaf Extract
Grape Seed Extract
The extract is a concentrate of a unique class of water-soluble flavonoids. These flavonoids are a special blend of 95% Polyphenols, comprised of 68% Proanthocyanidins. Proanthocyanidins are the most potent natural free radical scavenger yet discovered. Its antioxidant capabilities exceed that of Vitamin E by 50 fold and Vitamin C by 20 fold. Additionally, it works with the glutathione in the body to restore oxidized Vitamin C back to ascorbic acid. The protective chemicals from Grape Seed extract are preferred to those of pine bark (which shares many of the same base components) because Grape Seed extract had a higher content of antioxidants. Furthermore, Grape Seed extracts have been used to assist with the following: arthritis, diabetic retinopathy, visual acuity, edema, elevated cholesterol, nighttime cramps, PMS, sports injuries, swollen lymph nodes and varicose veins. A related extract from pine tree bark was used over 500 years ago by the explorer Jaques Cartier. Native Americans in the Gulf of St. Lawrence taught his crew to treat their scurvy induced swollen joints with a broth made from a specific pine bark. The remedy was made of 85% polyphenols and proanthocyanids. He then studied grape seed extract, and found it had several advantages overpine bark: it was 95% polyphenois and proanthocyanids, it was non-allergenic unlike pine bark, and it contained important gallic esters that pine bark didn‘t have. back to top Green Tea
Green Tea is believed to be anticarcinogenic and is loaded with polyphenols. Polyphenols are known to stabilized blood sugar levels. They have strong antiviral and antibacterial activity, and aid in digestion of "unfriendly" bacteria in the intestines. Additionally, they are exceptionally strong antioxidants which help reduce and control forming bateria and plaque in the mouth.
back to top Hawaiian Spirulina
Spirulina, while alive, absorbs many minerals and trace elements. Some of these elements are as follows; calcium, potassium, zinc, chromium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, iodine, sodium, and selenium. Most importantly, it is a superior source of highly absorbable organic iron. Spirulina is the richest food source of Vitamin B12, containing over twice the amount of liver. Spirulina has several biologically important pigments. The blue pigment Phycocyanin, is the most important pigment in Spirulina and can comprise up to one-fifth of the total weight of algae. This blue pigment has several important functions and research indicates it may stimulate the immune system. Spirulina is high in the essential fatty acid Gamma -Linolenic Acid (GLA). Spirulina contains 17% carbohydrates, all as easily assimilated glycosides. Over 60% of these glycosides are Rhamnose, a polysaccharide that is rapidly broken down to glycogen and easily absorbed by the body. It offers rapid energy without taxing the pancreas or causing hypoglycemia. It does not raise insulin levels, so it is suitable for diabetics. Research at the National Cancer Institute discovered that sulfolipids extracted from Spirulina were markedly active against the virus that causes AIDS. Spirulina's betacarotene works synergistically with lecithin to safeguard the body's mucous membranes. This reinforces the immune system's first line of defense by occluding bacteria viruses, allergens, viruses, and toxic chemicals. Spirutina is over 60% readily digestible biologically complete protein. By comparison, beef is only 22% protein. back to top Hawthorne Berry
Hawthorne Berry has powerful antioxidant qualities especially in protecting heart tissue. It also improves circulation and blood vessel function. Hawthorne is believed to strengthen and regulate the heart and is especially good for weakened heart muscles, and or insufficiencies of heart valves. It relaxes blood vessels and thus lowers blood pressure. Additionally, it provides a feeling of well being for anyone under stress.
back to top Hydrilla Algae
Hydrilla Algae is a unique "rooted" algae that grows wild in the pristine northern Florida Everglades. This unique algae provides an abundance of naturally occurring; minerals, proteins, RNA, DNA, GLA, nitrogen, carbohydrates, magnesium, sodium, chlorophyll, iron, vitamins, B1, B2, B3, B5, B12, phosphorous, maganese, zinc, copper, cobalt, selenium, molybdenum, 17 amino acids, SOD, and essential enzymes.
Hydrilla offers the unique nutrition to fortify the immune system, build and protect healthy cells and provide natural energy from phytonutrients. Hydrilla has been proven effective as a muscle builder, energy enhancer, nutrient provider, anti-arthritic, free radical scavenger, and has had dynamic applications for stress management, skin disorders, and age associated diseases. Hydrilla also enhances the results of other nutrient's absorption and helps control toxic reactions caused by drugs and chemical exposures from diet and the environment. Especially of note is its ability to act as an appetite suppressant. back to top Kamut Grass Juice
Kamut Grass Juice is higher in complex carbohydrates and minerals than both Wheat and Barley Grass. It shares all the health promoting ingredients of the other three grasses in Power For Life.
Lecithin
Lecithin is a vital component of every cell in the body. It is found in high concentration in the vital organs such as the brain, heart, liver, and the kidneys. Additionally, it supports the skin, hair, and nervous system. In the brain, Lecithin choline is transformed into acetycholine, a vital compound for the transmission of messages from one nerve ending to another. When Lecithin is ingested, the choline derived from it absorbed by the brain and aids in memory, thinking ability and muscle control. Finally, Lecithin helps with absorption of Vitamins A and D in the intestinal tract. back to top Milk Thistle Extract
Milk Thistle is a strong antioxidant and protects the liver from poisons and pollutants. It supports the liver's ability to activate nutrients as well as to deactivate toxins. Milk Thistle contains bioflavonoids that encourage liver cells to increase their rate of regeneration by 500% in animal studies.
Power For Life's Milk Thistle extract is over 80% Silymarin, the clinical effective dose. Silymarin is primarily pharmacologically active in the liver. Silymarin works by preventing liver destruction and strengthening liver function. It does this by its ability to stimulate liver protein synthesis and inhibit the factors that cause hepatic damage, such as free radicals. Milk Thistle is believed to augment the secretion and flow of bile from the liver and gall bladder. back to top Noni
Nova Scotia Dulse
This Dulse is harvested off the coast of Nova Scotia. Sea vegetables, such as Dulse, contain many more minerals than land plants do. The special Dulse in Power For Life is hand harvested, washed with spring water and solar dried. It has an agreeable sweet taste. Dulse is significantly healthier than kelp. Dulse has much less iodine than kelp and thus can be eaten everyday.
back to top Pomegranate Extract
Rice Bran Extract
Rice Bran Extract provides the full spectrum (all 21 types) of a unique class of antioxidants called tocotrienols. Similar to Vitamin E (tocopherols), tocotreinols' ability to inhibit free radical activity is 6000 times stronger than Vitamin E.
Research has shown that Rice Bran contains minute amounts of trace elements that are crucial for proper immune system function. When Asians abstain from their diet of rice, the disease beriberi results. It is believed that the components of the Rice Bran play a central role in prevention of such ailments. back to top Rhododendron
Royal Jelly
Royal Jelly is possibly the most nutritious food produced by animal, insect or plant. It is an excellent nutrient containing Vitamins A, C, D, E as well as nine B complex Vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, biotin folic acid, B12. Royal Jelly contains 22 amino acids and notable quantities of mineral calcium, copper, iron, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, and sulfur.
In humans, Royal Jelly fights aging through its pathothenic acid content, the key B-Vitamin that stimulates the adrenal glands. Acts as a catalyst for assimilation of nutrients, increases resistance to infection, and helps relieves stress symptoms. Modern French research shows that Royal Jelly acts like a natural hormone, stimulating both male and female sex glands and enhances endocrine gland function. The study goes on to report that Royal Jelly benefits the treatment of sterility and sex-organ insufficiencies, such as frigidity and impotence. Royal Jelly is antivirucidal, especially against those viruses that cause herpes and the flu. These naturally occurring antibiotics are about 25% as active as penicillin. Royal Jelly aids the skin by preventing infections that cause welts, pimples, and boils. back to top Siberian Ginseng Extract (Eleutherococcus Senticossus)Ginseng has many healthful virtues attributed to it, which explains why its scientific name includes "Panax" , meaning panacea. Several international symposiums have been devoted to Ginseng's health promoting aspects. Chemists have found more than 20 spaonins which act as active ingredients in Ginseng.
back to top Vegetable Digestive Enzymes
Vegetable Digestive Enzymes ensure complete utilization of ALL the nutrients within the Power For Life Formula. Vegetable derived enzymes are used because they are more active throughout the entire digestive tract than animal derived enzymes.
Vegetable Digestive Enzymes provide digestive activity that remove digestive stress. Naturally, food contains several enzymes that aid in their digestion. Many of these enzymes are destroyed during the cooking process. Supplementing with vegetable digestive enzymes provides a balanced serving of protease (to digest protein), amylases (to digest starch) and lipases (to digest fat), in combination, these enzymes will contribute to the efficacy of Power For Life. back to top Wheat, Barley, and Kamut Juices
All of these grasses are organically grown and rich in chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is one of the strongest blood fortifiers and rejuvenators. Chlorophyll reportedly washes drug deposits from the body and purifies the liver, lung, and colon. Research has demonstrated that chlorophyll will inhibit growth of unfriendly bacteria. It also helps sores heal faster and counteracts body toxins. A recent U.S. Army study showed that a chlorophyll-rich diet doubled the life span of animals exposed to lethal radiation.
Wheat Grass Juice
Wheat Grass helps cleanse the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tract. It has been to be a metabolic and enzyme system stimulant, invigorating and normalizing the thyroid gland. This may be helpful in fighting obesity and indigestion. Wheat Grass is a repository of vitamins, especially Vitamin A, C, and K. Additionally, it has a greater percentage of protein than eggs. Wheat Grass contains 90 minerals, including mangnese, chromium, selenium, and 17 amino acids.
