| Animal Accolades
I was not expecting anything different when I met Alexis, but I soon came to realize she possessed a unique gift and more knowledge than anyone I had ever met. Consulting with her and incorporating her knowledge into my practice helped me design the best animal health care program I know to date. I have to say that I feel fortunate and grateful that she "took me under her wing". Today, Alexis and I work together on a daily basis. We collaborate in the care of hundreds of animals. We are in the process of writing a book together embracing both Eastern and Western modalities. In the twenty years I have known Alexis. I have not seen one single case, animal and owner, that has not been helped by her. I use her product exclusively in my practice and I have come to affectionately refer to her as the " White Shaman " . Her knowledge and my association with her have given me a deeper insight into the mind/body connection of all my patients. For this I thank her. -Dr. Alfred Jay Plechner, D.V.M. On the last weekend in June, 1988, my dog "Diva" awoke from her night's sleep, and still in a "curled up" position, she attempted to raise herself to her feet and was instantly hit with a spasm of pain, a pinched nerve in her lower spine. The pain was so intense she did rise onto three legs, her right rear leg being useless at that moment, and went yelping from room to room in agony. I was not present during any of this as I was out of town for the weekend and Diva was spending a few days with friends. They were helpless as to know what to do, because Diva didn't want lo be touched for fear of more pain. Finally, they called someone who was good at handling injured horses, he came and was able to calm her and pick her up, then transport her to the Montecito Animal Hospital. She spent the next two and a half weeks at the hospital on pain killers plus some therapy to help her maintain circulation in her legs. Diva was then nearly twelve years of age, her birth date being some time in September. She is a medium-sized dog, half Springer Spaniel and half Labrador Retriever. She had never had any problem with her legs before. She was in good health except for being somewhat overweight. At the veterinary hospital, they daily (after the first few days) encouraged her to try to walk, taking her outside to a grassy area. But about three steps was all she could manage. I would visit her as much as possible to let her know she wasn't deserted. But during those visits in the hospital examining room she wouldn't look at me directly, as though being ashamed of her condition. Finally, after more than two weeks and her seeming to be at a level or plateau in which she wasn't getting worse but not any better either, the doctor agreed with me that she might actually improve at home. So she came home with me and immediately in her own environment she took more steps than she had during her confinement, in fact, she walked (weakly) across my rather wide yard that first day. However, she did not show any great improvement beyond that. Two or three weeks later I met a lady who, seeing Diva's condition, remarked that she had a friend who might be able lo help Diva considerably. I was interested. She sent me a descriptive brochure within a couple of days about this friend of hers. That friend was Alexis Ells of The Body Balance Center. Diva showed marked improvement from the very first session. It was very gratifying. Since then she has had four or five further Body Balance Awareness sessions, plus being on a carefully controlled diet including vitamin and mineral supplements in her food daily, specially formulated by Alexis Ells. Her progress hasn't been without occasional "dips", but never regressing to her earlier incapacitated state. Now, more than a year later, she has frequent walks to the beach, across a meadow and such, for a distance of perhaps a mile or so, often trotting happily and going into the surf, wading and dipping her muzzle into the salt water, which pleases her. Now almost thirteen years of age, she is a happy dog, enjoying life. Her hind legs may not have the 100% strength and stability they had before the incident of the pinched nerve, but she has improved so vastly since that time. I am very pleased and I know Diva is. Alexis Ells is to be congratulated on the wonderful work with animals that she does. Diva is a living testimonial to the effectiveness of that work. We both thank her more than we can say. ~Don Messick NIBBLES: 6-1/2 yr. Rottweiler HISTORY: * Paced since birth Changes in one month on the Body Balance program: * Ho longer paces (after one session the pacing stopped) -Connie Ferner Dear Alexis, I want to let you know how much I have appreciated the work you have done with my cats, Stripe and Furrball. It has been wonderful to watch the changes in them. As you'll remember, Furrball was a fat, slothful and dull creature who was unable to use his injured leg when you first started. Now he has turned into a svelte, silky, lively hunter. And we so appreciated your help with his fear of the cat carrier. Now I can safely transport him whenever necessary and he no longer experiences the fear and trauma he used to. His attitude has also changed. He no longer slashes out impatiently when expecting his food and he and Stripe are buddies again. Stripes' changes have been remarkable as well. Stripe was overweight and elongated. His walk was very awkward and painful, jumping up onto anything was a problem for him. Also, the area surrounding his shoulder blades was extremely sensitive and he didn't want to be touched there. Now he is solid and muscular and moves with grace. I can pick him up and hold him in any position without causing him any discomfort. And he can jump again the way a cat is supposed to be able to. I have learnt enormously from you . . . about the importance of diets, how cats think, how they feel, and how their bodies work. They are beautiful spirits. I now listen to them. I have learned to slow the pace of my life enough to get back in touch with the instinctive and intuitive child within myself. I have learned how the cats mirror some of my basic attitudes and interactions . . . how I can benefit from such wonderful teachers as my cats have turned out to be. They quickly reflect any disease and disharmony within my household. I thank you deeply for your love and understanding of animals and the still quiet and connected place you reach with them. For your clarity and your knowledge of how to share it. You and your work have touched my life on a very deep level With gratitude and love, Dear Alexis - I just wanted to send a note to let you know how incredibly well Easy (my whippet) is doing. I truly believe that without your loving help Easy's recovery would have been questionable to say the least. When I had picked him up from the local emergency room I was devastated by what I saw! I thought there was little hope of him being anywhere near normal again. He had obvious neurological damage suffering severe trauma to the head, neck and back. When he stood up his neck and body would twist around as he couldn't uncross his front legs so he'd just fall over. He was in tremendous pain and crushed not just physically but emotionally and spiritually as well. I was extremely unimpressed with the veterinarians handling of the situation, and I didn't know where to turn. I was so relieved when a friend told me about you and your approach to a more wholistic way of healing and balancing the body naturally without unnecessary drugs or surgery. Upon our "first visit, I witnessed a miraculous improvement" - his legs stopped crossing and he could actually take a few steps without falling over. I was so pleased to hear your views on nutrition as I also believe it plays a most important and vital role in the healing process (not to mention preventing disease or illness) we've been following your recommended diet for several months now and our dogs have never been healthier. I also believe your suggested supplements played an essential role in Easy's recovery. After seeing how well Easy was doing on the diet, I started doing the same for my other whippet and he filled out perfectly and now looks healthy and beautiful. I didn't realize how undernourished he was. I really see a difference now. You should see Easy! We take him to the beach every weekend and he runs and plays for hours - the other dogs can't keep up with him: He is so happy, he absolutely radiated joy and love as he bounces down the beach! I know he is grateful to you and always looks forward to seeing you. You truly have a unique and special gift. I very much admire your work Alexis, and I'd be happy to be used as a reference to anyone considering being one of your future clients. Sincerely, While returning home from a lovely camping trip with my mom in the Santa Lucia mountains in Big Sur, we decided to stop for a bite to eat at The Cold Springs Tavern. After a delightful lunch we decided to go for a walk. At one of the nearby cabins we found a large cage with a family of kittens inside. Being a lifetime cat lover, I couldn't resist visiting, and of course fell in love with the little tortoise shell one with the stripe down the middle of her face. We found the gentleman whose cabin it was, and he was indeed looking for homes for the kittens. So Mom and I drove home to Ventura with Lucia, who was calm and quiet all the way. After three weeks of adjusting to my other three cats, Lucia began to have epileptic seizures. They wracked her tiny body leaving her limp and exhausted and leaving me devastated. I contacted my local vet and once had to take her to an overnight emergency pet clinic. Apparently she was not able to properly digest proteins and was building up toxins in her system. The vet put her on medication and said to use a low protein canned food. Somehow, although I have had good results with this vet, I did not feel confident that this was going to help Lucia. I was right, the seizures didn't stop even with the mentioned changes. I confided in a friend my concerns regarding Lucia's seizures and she told me about The Body Balance Center and a woman named Alexis. My friend highly recommended Alexis work and said all of her animals were on the Body Balance system. So, Alexis saw Lucia and suggested a natural diet and certain food supplements. Lucia had one Body Balance Awareness session and I am pleased to say, Lucia has never had another seizure! Alexis has remained very caring and has checked on Lucia often. I am grateful to be able to report that she is a beautiful, curious, affectionate, and playful, six month old cat now. And her purr is exceptional. Thank you Alexis, I can truly recommend your work from my heart. Sylvia Gilmor I have a best friend named Lucy, The Cat. One day she began to scratch. She scratched and s-c-r-a-t-c-h-e-d until she was covered in scabs . . . my house was covered in scabs and we both were miserable. I had fed her a "high quality" top dollar commercial canned food all of her life. Well, I thought it was "high quality" food, even the label said so. Then I began to think about how I view my own health. I eat a natural and healthy diet, so I decided to cook all of Lucy's food myself. Maybe that would help the itching and scratching problems. I even got a natural health book for animals and followed all the recipes to the letter. I gave her herbs, bathed her in special shampoos and loved her immensely , . . nothing helped. Actually she continued to get worse and worse. I have never been an advocate of using drugs unless it was absolutely necessary and so with great reluctance I took Lucy to the vet. He diagnosed the problem as Santa Barbara Itch and gave her a cortisone shot. Well, much to my surprise it worked. Well, it worked for a while. I'm not sure how much happier Lucy was, but at least she wasn't scratching for a time. The drug had suppressed the urge to itch and scratch along with her urge to play, hunt and stay awake. She became bloated and gained weight regardless of how little food she ate. She became extremely lethargic and of course in a matter of weeks time not only had the interminable itch returned, now she had massive hair loss and open oozing sores as veil. So back to the vet, more shots, more money and more of the same. After the fourth or fifth time around in the merry go round cycle, I became concerned. What was I doing to Lucy's health in the long run? And what about the fact that the shots were becoming much less effective? Lucy continued to decline and I finally thought: I'd have to have her put to sleep to relieve her from her constant misery. My heart was deeply saddened. Then a friend introduced me to Alexis Ells. Alexis quite literally saved Lucy's life. She changed Lucy's diet and taught me the proper use of food supplementation, Lucy also had about six Body Balance Awareness sessions. Within several months there was no more scratching, no more itching, no more scabs and no more open oozing sores. She lost the excess weight, grew back her fur and now plays and hunts like a young kitten. Lucy got 100% better and now lives a life of optimum health. I am grateful for the knowledge Alexis so freely shares (explaining things until I really understand), for her integrity and for her deep caring of animals. I highly recommend The Body Balance Center for all of your animal friends as the path to a life of quality the natural way! Sincerely, I am writing to you to thank you for the wonderful job you did in assisting my dog, D. Doonsberry back to health. When I found her, she was in shock, had been badly beaten, and was almost blind in one eye. She was literally starving and was eating a paper plate and some leftover food while wandering aimlessly at the beach. I brought her to you immediately and I am so glad. After you began the Body Balance sessions and suggested the diet and supplements, I noticed an immediate change that was not only physical. Doonsberry became more self confident, more active and related better with both other animals and people. She gained weight and her skinny little body blossomed. As for the eye, all the cloudiness disappeared and her sight was fully restored. I was truly amazed! Although very unaccepted by most of the veterinarian world, your program enforces better nutrition, proper supplementation and correct body balance. The information you provided regarding dog behavior and how they view the world was also of great value. I now feel that I can actually communicate with my dog in a much deeper way. I can really understand what she is saying and what she needs. Again, many many thanks From D. Doonsberry and I for the abundant knowledge you possess and so generously share. Your healing gifts are truly remarkable, ..keep up the incredible work that you are doing, this planet needs you! Yours truly, Dear Alexis, I'm writing this letter to extend my deepest gratitude to you for your role in healing Amber Light. Thanks to you, Amber is once again a normal, healthy, strong and happy cat! Nine months ago, Amber began to suffer from a serious problem with her digestive system. She was throwing up blood, drooling saliva for hours at a time, and blood was also in her stool. After taking her to my vet in San Mateo several times, we still didn't know what the cause or cure for her ailment was. He recommended that I take Amber to a specialist for internal medicine and after speaking with the specialist, I was frightened and depressed. It seemed that our only recourse was to have a biopsy taken from Amber's stomach and intestines - an expensive and risky procedure. If the biopsy showed that she had an inflammatory disease, Amber would have to take drugs for the remainder of her life - she was only three years old! This is when I found out about you and your Body Balance Center in Santa Barbara. After our initial conversation, I was so relieved and hopeful that Amber would respond to a completely natural diet, supplements and the Body Balance sessions. I read the book you gave me about pet allergies and I began to realize that Amber's diet had been deficient in nutrients and was possibly killing her! Of course, my change in attitude didn't happen overnight, and you were a tremendous source of information, encouragement and inspiration to me. There were so many times when I wondered if she would ever be a normal, healthy cat again. And there were times when I truly disliked the ordeal of feeding her supplements that she rejected. Yet, you constantly reminded me of the alternative to a radical change in her diet - and you were there to help me overcome my own resistance to the change. I remember a time when I had to hand feed Amber pieces of cooked chicken, and she would walk away from rice and chicken or even red snapper. She wanted her canned commercial cat food and the dry food that I had fed her for years, she was literally addicted to the commercial food! This made me feel like a terrible person for depriving her of what she wanted, even though I now understood how harmful it was. Now, you should see her when I feed her the chicken and rice or snapper and rice. She absolutely goes crazy for it! She wraps around my legs and keeps wanting more! I know you told me this would happen, but there were times when I doubled that it would, and you kept telling me to hang in there and be patient. Alexis, you are a wonderful healer and friend to animals (and people!) It has been almost three years since Amber was sick and suffering terribly. She now has energy to run and climb trees, chase birds and climb fences. Her body is strong and her coat is smooth and shiny. Do you have any idea how good this makes me feel? Every day I am grateful for her good health and appetite for good foods with the supplements mixed in. She also takes great pride in washing her coat and has the energy to do it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I only wish that everyone with a sick pet could be aware of your gift for healing. I will certainly tell everyone I know that has a cat or dog to consult with you for the optimum program that will prevent disease and avoid the terrible suffering that Amber went through! Love Janet Mills Dear Alexis, I shall be eternally grateful to you for the outstanding care you have given my beautiful Persian, Chenda. When I first called upon you, Chenda was remote and non-responsive and seemed to have a heaviness about her that was bothersome. She also spent all of her time away from us and wasn't eating very well. One visit with you, and Chenda is a different little feline. She scampers about, plays with her ball, eats heartily, and, most of all, she is a member of the family again. She is a funny, cute kitten. Knowing you do what you do gives me great peace of mind. I have always felt very guilty when I've dragged Chenda off to the veterinarian. I knew she would be shot full of chemicals. She was always terrified (and probably a good bit resentful), but I didn't know I had a choice in the matter. One of the really fun things is talking to other people about you. Everyone I have talked with about your technique agrees with me that you are truly amazing. Sincerely yours, Since I have had my animals on the Body Balance Awareness System, I have had very low vet bills and my animals are all happy and healthy. Here are some of my experiences. One cat was diagnosed as having Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (which is like AIDS). The vet and I thought he would surely die. He had chronic upper respiratory infections and could barely breathe or eat. Then he developed skin cancer and amputation of the ears was recommended to prevent the cancer from spreading. Intensive drug therapy was of little help. At this point I felt the most humane thing to do would be lo have Spot put to sleep. Then I called The Body Balance Center. Alexis suggested a totally organic and natural diet, make some dramatic changes in his supplement program and gradually wean him from the drugs. These changes along with the Body Balance Awareness sessions have brought Spot back to life! The vet and I were amazed. Although my 13-year-old German Shepherd has hip dysplasia and severe arthritis, he is now relatively pain free and can hike in the hills with me. I keep him on the Body Balance system and he's a playful senior canine. Another cat was having great difficulty in walking. After only one Body Balance Awareness session, all movement problems ended. A different cat came home one day with a severe infection from a cat fight. To my amazement, no abscess developed and the infection cleared up without the use of antibiotics. My other dog was having bad skin problems like many other southern California animals. She seemed to be allergic to many things and her coal was dry and dull. She was also overweight regardless of how little I fed her. And the fleas drove her crazy. Actually, the fleas were a problem for all the animals. Since Lilly has been on the Body Balance program all these problems have disappeared and so have the fleas. Well, we still have some fleas droppings every now and then, but the infestations, chronic itching and skin problems are completely gone. These are just some of the experiences that come to mind. I can highly recommend, from experience, using Alexis' natural animal care program. The Body Balance Awareness program works! Sincerely, Dear Alexis, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thanks to you and the Body Balance program, Alden is now a healthy, happy, active and beautiful kitten. What a change from when I first brought him to you! When I was given Alden at five weeks old, his mother had stopped nursing him, he had been eating dry cat food, cried when he tried to go to the bathroom, and had such serious conjunctivitis that I was ready to take him to a vet. Luckily, I called the Body Balance Center and was able to take Alden to see you immediately. Within two days, the conjunctivitis was completely gone and within a week Alden was using the litter box regularly without crying. Since then he's been in perfect health and has become quite active, always playing or stalking. He has the most beautiful, shiny, healthy fur and I receive many compliments on it. Alden now has a very healthy appetite and loves his food. In fact, he refuses to touch his food if it does not contain his supplements! I am more than satisfied with the Body Balance Center. I am a firm believer in your healing abilities and in preventive medicine. I have and will continue to recommend, your program to all of my friends with pets and those who are thinking of having pets. The knowledge and service you provide is too valuable to be without! Again, Alden and I wish to extend our deepest thanks and appreciation. Yours truly, |
